Azimio One Kenya's Back And Fourth On Bahati's Candidacy
Kevin Kioko, popular known as Bahati's political aspirations have been once doomed by the Azimio One Kenya Coalition after settling on Anthony Aluoch as their preferred candidate to fly the Mathare flag.
The decision by the coalition was reached after a joint delegates meeting of ODM and Jubilee on Monday, where they claimed the Musician will be offered a position in the government should they win the August 9th election.
This is the second time the singer's political aspirations have been shaken by the coalition, in April, he cried during a press briefing, saying his nomination certificate had been recalled in favor of the Mathare MP Anthony Oluoch.
However, Bahati claims his Jubilee party is unaware of the plans and terms it propaganda.
The musician on a social media post has maintained that he will be on the ballot in the coming 9th August general election.
'Dear Azimio, stop misleading Mathare voters, Bahati has not stepped down for anyone", he wrote.
The Mathare MP seat hopeful while addressing the media dismissed claims by the ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna and public service CAS Rachel Shebesh.
He went ahead to explain that the people of Mathare are in a dire need of somebody who understands them and they should be given a chance to choose whoever they want.
"These people of Mathare have suffered, they deserve someone who understands them," said Bahati.
Kioko has urged the coalition's co-principals to stop killing the dreams of youths in the party reminding them of his loyalty to the Jubilee party.
The latest blow to the singer is just three weeks after the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has cleared him to vie for the Mathare MP seat.
