Athletics Kenya (AK) on Tuesday announced a formidable 58-member squad to represent the nation at the upcoming World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, set to run from September 13 to 21, 2025.

Leading the charge for Kenya will be Africa's fastest man, Ferdinand Omanyala, who is the country's sole representative in the fiercely contested men's 100m. He will be joined by reigning world champions Mary Moraa (800m) and Faith Kipyegon, who is slated to compete in both the 1,500m and 5,000m events, aiming for a historic double.

Other prominent names in the squad include double Olympic 5000m and 10,000m champion Beatrice Chebet, who is also expected to double in Tokyo, and Olympic 800m champion Emmanuel Wanyonyi. Veterans like Julius Yego (javelin) and Timothy Cheruiyot (1500m) also made the cut, adding depth and experience to the team.
