Arsenal have confirmed that highly rated teenager Max Dowman has signed a scholarship contract with the club, formalising an agreement that was reached last year and underlining the club’s commitment to his long-term development at Hale End.

The 16-year-old, who has been with Arsenal since childhood, is regarded as one of the brightest prospects in the academy and has progressed rapidly through the youth ranks, earning opportunities to train and feature alongside senior players.

Reacting to the announcement, Dowman described the moment as deeply personal. “This means everything to me and my family. We all support Arsenal and I really feel like I belong here,” he said, highlighting the emotional significance of committing his future to the north London club.

The teenager was quick to acknowledge those who have supported him throughout his journey. “I’d like to thank all my coaches, teammates and, most importantly, my family and friends, who have got me to where I am today,” Dowman added.

Dowman also reflected on his long association with Arsenal, having spent his entire football education within the club’s system. “I’ve been at the club my whole life, so this really means a lot,” he said, pointing to the strong bond he feels with the club.

The young attacker praised Arsenal’s track record of promoting academy talent into the first team, citing clear examples he hopes to follow. “There’s such a clear pathway here, players who have come through our academy, like Bukayo, Myles and Ethan, who all really inspire me,” Dowman explained.

He stressed the importance of having role models who have walked the same path. “It’s amazing to have role models so close that have experienced the same thing that I have,” he said, referencing fellow Hale End graduates now established at senior level.

Looking ahead, Dowman made clear that his focus remains firmly on improvement and hard work. “I’m now so excited to continue to work hard with my development,” he concluded, as Arsenal continue to invest in nurturing the next generation of talent from their academy.
