Arsenal secured a 2–1 victory over Brighton at the Emirates Stadium to strengthen their Premier League campaign, edging a competitive contest decided by key moments in both halves. The Gunners took control early and showed resilience late on as Brighton pushed for an equaliser.
Martin Ødegaard opened the scoring in the 14th minute after combining with Bukayo Saka, giving Arsenal a deserved first-half lead. The hosts continued to press after the break and doubled their advantage in the 52nd minute when Georginio Rutter turned the ball into his own net under pressure, making it 2–0.
Brighton responded with renewed urgency and pulled one back in the 64th minute through Diego Gómez, who finished clinically to set up a tense final half hour. The visitors created pressure but were unable to find a second goal.
Arsenal managed the closing stages well, seeing out the match despite late substitutions and stoppage-time tension to seal all three points and maintain momentum in the title race.
