Arsenal F.C. booked their place in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup after securing a 2–1 victory over Mansfield Town F.C. at the One Call Stadium on March 7, 2026.

The Premier League side took the lead late in the first half when winger Noni Madueke curled a precise shot into the net in the 41st minute after Arsenal struggled to break down the hosts’ disciplined defence in the opening stages.

Mansfield responded shortly after the restart as substitute Will Evans equalised for the League One side. The forward capitalised on a defensive lapse to level the match and spark hopes of a major upset.

Arsenal regained the lead in the 66th minute through Eberechi Eze. The midfielder struck a powerful effort from outside the penalty area that flew into the top corner to restore the visitors’ advantage.

Despite the defeat, Mansfield delivered a spirited performance and created several chances as they pushed for another equaliser in front of their home supporters.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta rotated his squad for the tie, giving opportunities to several younger players as the club balances multiple competitions this season.

The match also drew attention after Arsenal handed starting opportunities to two 16-year-old academy prospects, underlining the club’s willingness to integrate youth talent into the first team.

Mansfield had reached the fifth round after eliminating Premier League side Burnley F.C. earlier in the tournament, making them one of the lowest-ranked teams still competing in the competition.

Arsenal had entered the FA Cup in the third round and previously overcame Portsmouth F.C. and Wigan Athletic F.C. to reach the clash against Mansfield.

The victory keeps Arsenal’s hopes alive of lifting the FA Cup this season as they continue competing across domestic and European competitions.

Attention now turns to the quarter-final draw, where Arsenal will discover their next opponent as the historic tournament moves closer to its final stages. ⚽🏆
