Arsenal has reportedly reached a deal in principle to sign Ecuadorian 16‑year‑old twins Edwin Quintero and Holger Quintero from Independiente del Valle, with the pair set to join the club in August 2027, when they turn 18.
The twins, currently in London, are completing formalities this week, including contract-signing, ahead of an eventual formal announcement. While the transfer fee remains undisclosed, the move is viewed as another example of Arsenal’s commitment to investing early in promising young talent.
On the field, Edwin is primarily a right winger — though comfortable in midfield — and has attracted praise for his pace and technical quality, with some comparisons likening him to a young Neymar. Holger, by contrast, operates as an attacking midfielder, offering creativity, vision, and versatility, complementing Edwin’s more direct style.
This signing continues a pattern for Independiente del Valle, a club known for nurturing South American talent now thriving in Europe. Arsenal’s scouts are believed to have monitored the twins for over a year before reaching agreement.
Although the Quintero twins will not be eligible to play for Arsenal until 2027, the club and fans will be watching eagerly, hoping that, once they arrive, the brothers can follow the path of previous South American imports and eventually make an impact on the first team.
