ANC Leader Condemns Atwoli's Decision to Host ODM Party Leader in Kakamega

Amani National Congress leader, Musalia Mudavadi, has condemned a decision by Central Organization of Trade Union Secretary-General Francis Atwoli's, to convene a political meeting at Bukhungu stadium in Kakamega.

Mudavadi in his speech during this year's Maragoli Festivals at Mbale Municipal Grounds on 26th December 2021, stated that, COTU Secretary has no business calling for political meetings because he is not running for any political seat.

ANC leader further confirmed that he won’t attend the December 31st meeting because he believes it will be used to declare the region's support for Raila's presidential bid.

On the other hand, Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala has warned the ODM leader against holding the meeting unless the ANC leader agrees.

Malala vowed to prevent the former Prime Minister from holding a political rally at the Bukhungu Stadium, he claimed the meeting will unite all Luhya communities, so as they vote for Raila Odinga during the 2022 general elections which, he said, is against the community's leadership.

COTU Secretary General Atwoli, on responding to Malala's claims, has assured residents of Kakamega beefed-up security, hence nobody will interrupt the meeting.
