Liverpool have received a major boost ahead of their Premier League clash against Nottingham Forest, with Brazilian goalkeeper Alisson Becker expected to return to the starting lineup. Alisson has been sidelined for approximately seven weeks following a hamstring injury sustained in late September but has now successfully completed full training sessions. Head coach Arne Slot confirmed he will start the match provided he remains fit after the final pre-game assessment.

The return of the first-choice goalkeeper comes at a crucial moment for Liverpool, who have grappled with defensive inconsistency during his absence. Backup Giorgi Mamardashvili deputised throughout Alisson’s recovery but is likely to revert to a supporting role. Alisson’s experience and commanding presence are anticipated to stabilise the back line as Liverpool seek improved performances heading into a demanding run of fixtures.

However, the club will be without fullback Conor Bradley and midfielder Florian Wirtz, both ruled out due to muscle injuries. Their absence poses tactical challenges for Slot, who described the timing of the setbacks as unfortunate. Despite this, the manager remained upbeat, noting that Alisson’s return provides a timely psychological lift for the squad.

Liverpool approach the weekend encounter with the aim of securing maximum points to maintain momentum in the title race. Supporters will be buoyed by the prospect of seeing Alisson back between the posts at Anfield, with the Brazilian widely regarded as one of the squad’s most influential figures. Kick-off is scheduled for this weekend.
