A look at Quarter finals of the FKF Cup
The round of 16 of the MozzartBet FKF Cup culminated this weekend, with the major highlight being Gor Mahia bowing out, after a 1-0 humiliating loss to Kakamega Homeboyz at Bukhungu stadium.
The defending champions were seeking to secure a double this season but they will miss the contingent of big guns progressing to the Quarter finals.
Here is a look at how teams will pair up for the quarter finals which are set for the weekend of April 28 and 29.
Kakamega Homeboyz vs Kariobangi Sharks
Homeboyz surprised many after their massive 1-0 victory over Gor Mahia to remain in line for their first ever top flight trophy.
They are up against Kariobangi Sharks who edged out 2021 semi-finalists Equity Bank 1-0.
Tusker FC vs. KCB
The fierce Kenya Premier League rivals lock horns in what seems to be a mouth-watering clash in the last eight.
The Current KPL champions came back from two goals down against third tier side Rainbow FC to win 3-2 and progress to the last eight. The Brewers are looking to get their first cup title since 2016.
The bankers secured their spot after overcoming Bidco United 4-1 on post-match penalties, after playing out a 1-1 draw in regulation time.
AFC Leopards vs Bandari
Ingwe progressed to the last eight with a lucky 1-0 win against second tier side Murang’a Seal at the Kasarani Stadium.
Bandari on the other hand got past Mwatate United winning 2-0 in their last 16 meeting in Mombasa.
Sofapaka vs Ulinzi Stars
Sofapaka and Ulinzi stars made their presence felt after dominating over National Super League side Darajani Gogo and Police FC respectively, both winning by the same margin of 2-1.
