Kenya’s Jacob Krop, a two-time World Championships 5000m medallist, will headline the men’s field at the tRUNsylvania 10km in Brașov, Romania, on October 5. The race, part of the World Athletics Elite Label series, has quickly built a reputation as one of Europe’s fastest autumn road races.
Organisers have confirmed a high-quality line-up featuring five athletes with personal bests under 27:15, all of them eager to test themselves against the course record of 26:51. That mark was set in 2022 by Nicolas Kipkorir Kimeli, and it remains one of the fastest times ever recorded on the roads in southeastern Europe.
Krop, who owns a road best of 27:04, enters the event as one of the favourites but will face tough opposition from fellow Kenyans. Daniel Kosen, who has run 27:01, leads a chasing pack that also includes emerging talents Vincent Kipkorir and Victor Kiprono, both eager to prove themselves against established names.
With a flat, spectator-friendly course cutting through the historic streets of Transylvania, conditions are expected to be ideal for fast running. Organisers are optimistic that the combination of talent and terrain will produce a thrilling race and possibly rewrite the event record books.
