France have set up a mouthwatering Quarter-Final clash against England, after the World Cup holders got the better of Poland winning a 3-1 at the Al Thumama stadium.

Olivier Giroud scored the opener for France, his 52nd goal for his country surpassing Thierry Henry to become France’s all time record holder.

Les Bleus further dominated the game and it was Kylian Mbappe’s double in the Second half that sealed the date for France and England’s showdown on Saturday, 2200 hours EAT.

Former Bayern Munich striker and Polish captain Robert Lewandowski, managed to pull a goal back through a late penalty –His second for the tournament- but ended up bowing out of the World Cup Tournament.

Elsewhere, England progressed to the World Cup quarter after a 3-0 win against Senegal in the last 16 clash at the Al-Bayt stadium.

Jordan Henderson and Harry Kane were on target in the first half with a pair of clinical finishes, before Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka gave England its third.

Netherlands and Argentina already booked their place in the Quarter Finals on Saturday after getting victory against USA and Australia respectively, setting up their clash on Friday, 2200 hours EAT.
