Tottenham Hotspur were held to a dramatic 2-2 draw by Brighton & Hove Albion in a pulsating Premier League clash on April 18, 2026.

Tottenham appeared on course for a crucial victory before conceding a stoppage-time equaliser that left their survival hopes hanging in the balance.

The hosts took the lead in the 39th minute through Pedro Porro, who finished off a well-worked move to put Spurs ahead.

Brighton responded just before halftime, with Kaoru Mitoma producing a superb volley deep into added time to level the score.

The second half saw Tottenham regain the advantage when Xavi Simons struck in the 77th minute, raising hopes of a vital three points for the home side.

However, Brighton refused to back down and continued to push forward in search of another equaliser.

Their persistence paid off in dramatic fashion when substitute Georginio Rutter scored in the 95th minute to silence the home crowd.

The late goal ensured Brighton walked away with a point, denying Tottenham what would have been a much-needed win.

Tottenham’s struggles continue, with the team remaining in the relegation zone and extending a lengthy winless run in the league.

They sit 18th on the table with 31 points from 33 matches, just one point behind safety, with rivals holding games in hand.

The winless run has now stretched to 15 league matches, leaving their survival hopes increasingly fragile as the season nears its conclusion.

With only five fixtures remaining, Tottenham must now deliver a near-perfect finish to avoid relegation, or risk a historic drop from the top flight for the first time in decades.
