Rotary Club Of Kirinyaga Donates Wheelchairs To Children With Disabilities In Kutus
The Rotary Club of Kirinyaga has donated mobility aid equipment to children with disabilities in Kutus, Kirinyaga County.
The equipment includes specialized wheelchairs that can be adjusted as the children grow, as well as a greenhouse and renovations to classrooms.
In the Kenya News Agency's report, the club's president, Perpetua Karanja, said the donation is part of the club's social responsibility to the community.
Mutemi Wilfred, the former chairperson of the club, said the wheelchairs will help to give parents and caretakers of disabled children more freedom, as they will no longer have to be constantly attending to their children's mobility needs.
He also called on the community to support persons with disabilities, saying they encounter many challenges that require close attention.
Nancy Githinji, the mother of one of the beneficiaries, said the donation has motivated her to know that there are people who think positively about persons with disabilities.
She said the wheelchair will make it easier for her child to get around and participate in activities that other children take for granted.
The Rotary Club of Kirinyaga is to be commended for its work to help persons with disabilities. The donation of mobility aid equipment is a significant gesture that will make a real difference in the lives of many children.
