Real Betis Seal Deadline Day Move For Antony
Real Betis have struck an agreement with Manchester United to sign Brazilian winger Antony on a permanent deal. The Spanish side had initially explored a straight loan option but switched to a full transfer as talks progressed on Deadline Day.
The deal is understood to be worth around €25 million, with United also inserting a 50% sell-on clause to secure future value should Betis cash in on the 25-year-old. Crucially, there will be no termination payment from United’s side to the Brazil international.
Antony joined United from Ajax in 2022 in a big-money move but has struggled to consistently deliver at Old Trafford. His departure marks a fresh start in La Liga, while United trim their wage bill and reshape their attacking options ahead of the new campaign.
For Betis, the signing is a major boost to Manuel Pellegrini’s squad, as the club looks to push for European qualification this season. Antony will bring flair, pace, and experience to the wings, with both sides hoping the change reignites his career.
