Oscar Sudi Apologizes to Kenyans, Labels Political Rival a "Devil" Trying to Divide the Mount Kenya Region

In a scathing press briefing from his Kapseret residence, Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi launched a fierce attack on former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, accusing him of attempting to isolate the Mount Kenya community from the rest of the country.
During the fiery address, Sudi expressed deep regret for his past political choices, explicitly apologizing to the nation for his role in elevating Gachagua to high-ranking national office. He claimed that the former Deputy President's divisive tendencies were apparent from his very first day in office.
"I want to ask for forgiveness from Kenyans because I think I was the person pushing for this mad man to become Deputy President. And if you remember, the very first day he was sworn in, his first mistake started on that day," Sudi stated.
The lawmaker strongly cautioned residents of the Mount Kenya region against following Gachagua's rhetoric, arguing that his continuous press conferences and public utterances are designed to create animosity and conflict rather than promote national integration.
"I want to tell the people of the Mountain, please, you are Kenyans, do not be pushed into a ditch by a mad man. I am not saying it is a must you vote for us, but look at how he talks every day whenever he calls a press conference," he urged.
Sudi further accused the former Deputy President of hypocrisy regarding recent public unrest. He alleged that while Gachagua publicly accused the police of bringing goons to disrupt peace and destroy property, he was secretly the mastermind behind the chaos, orchestrating groups to cause destruction in the capital.
"Just the other day I heard him saying that at least there were people who were paid. Can you imagine accusing the police themselves? You helped plan peaceful protests, but you are the same one who brought goons. We have the photos and the vehicles you deployed all over Nairobi to cause destruction," Sudi claimed.
The MP appealed directly to the Head of State to strictly enforce constitutional provisions to protect the country from internal subversion. He described Gachagua as an existential threat to national cohesion who operates on temporary political power.
"I ask the President, if you forgot to read the Constitution of Kenya, return and read the Constitution. We have a devil in Kenya... It has reached a point where the law must take its course because we cannot look on while he tries to divide people," Sudi remarked.
Sudi emphasized that Kenyans across all regions—including Turkana, Bungoma, Mombasa, Eldoret, and Nyeri—should consider the entire nation their home, urging the Mount Kenya community to reject political confinement and embrace absolute unity with fellow citizens.
"Stop cornering the people of the Mountain. Stop making them look like they are against Kenyans. The loss we suffered in 2007 and 2008 was because of foolish people. I want to say as a leader of the boda boda association in Kenya, let us love one another," Sudi concluded.
