Omar Marmoush Ruled Out of Manchester Derby With Knee Injury

Manchester City forward Omar Marmoush has been ruled out of Sunday’s Manchester derby after suffering a knee injury while on international duty with Egypt.
The 25-year-old limped off early during Egypt’s World Cup qualifier against Burkina Faso and initial scans confirmed a knee ligament bruise. City have since announced that Marmoush will return to Manchester for further assessment and rehabilitation.
The setback comes as a major blow to Pep Guardiola’s side, who are already dealing with several fitness concerns ahead of their clash with rivals Manchester United. Rayan Cherki and Mateo Kovacic remain unavailable, while doubts persist over Phil Foden and Savinho.
City have not set a specific return date for Marmoush, with further tests expected to determine the length of his absence. However, reports suggest the injury could keep him out for an extended period depending on recovery progress.
Marmoush, who joined City in the summer, has made an impressive start to the season, and his absence will be felt as the champions prepare for one of their biggest fixtures of the campaign.
