Olunga hits form after consecutive hat trick
Harambee Stars captain Michael Olunga once again scored a hat trick on Monday night, as his Qatari side Al Duhail beat Al Arabi 3-2 in the Oredoo Cup.
This was his second consecutive hat trick and the third hat trick in four matches which started with a massive 8-3 victory over Al Markhiya in the Cup, before he scored three at the start of the month when they thrashed Qatar SC 3-0 in a league tie.
Olunga was on target for Al Duhail forcing the ball past the goal line when he intercepted a free kick inside the box.
Arabi however equalized in the 53rd minute through Ibrahim Kalla after he raced to a quickly taken freekick and fired past the keeper.
But OIunga restored his side back to the lead in the 61st minute with an instinctive finish, driving past defenders and firing it low past the keeper with his weaker right foot.
He completed his hat trick nine minutes later with a brilliant goal, racing past his marker and once again squeezing the ball between the keeper’s legs to get the win for his team.
Arabi managed to pull one back through Hamed Ismail from the penalty spot with four minutes left but Duhail held on for the second successive victory in the Cup.
