OFFICIAL: Frenkie de Jong Suffers Minor Injury

Barcelona have confirmed that Frenkie de Jong has sustained a slight injury to the external obturator muscle in his right leg. The Dutch midfielder picked up the knock while on international duty with the Netherlands.
In an official statement, the club revealed that his availability will depend on his recovery process, with no fixed timeline set for his return. Barcelona are expected to monitor his progress closely in the coming days.
De Jong is not likely to feature in the upcoming La Liga clash against Valencia, as the club aims to avoid aggravating the problem. Netherlands coach Ronald Koeman also stated that playing him further during the break would have been “too risky,” hence his early return to Barcelona.
With crucial fixtures ahead, including a Champions League tie against Newcastle United, the Catalan club will be cautious with his recovery, especially as other key players such as Gavi and Alejandro Balde remain sidelined.
