Police in Nyamira county has launched investigations into the mysterious death of Rangenyo girls secondary school principal who died while undergoing treatment at Oasis Hospital.
According to the police, Lydia Nyansiaboka Onyoni who stays alone in the school residence was found lying unconscious under her bed by the school watchman.
While addressing the media in his office, Nyamira County Police Commander, James Kimani said the watchman who normally prepares her breakfast became suspicious after she took too long to wake up for the morning duty.
The watchman went and knocked on her bedroom door and heard her groaning from inside. He then ran out and informed the teachers who came and found her unconscious, Kimani added.
The staff immediately got in touch with the police who came and rushed her to the hospital where she passed on while undergoing medication.
Parents streamed into the school upon receipt of the sad news of their principal’s death.
The principal had served at the school for close to five years before she met her fate.
