Mombasa to Host Second Series of Hockey Masters
Mombasa County Hockey Association in partnership with Kenya Hockey Union (KHU) will host the second series of the Masters Field Tournament set to be held at Mombasa Sports Club on September 3 and 4.
According to the Association President Oliver Mascarenhas, they are planning to build a strong Masters team through the tournament.
“The tournament was started by KHU and you know in the world we have a master’s hockey series. Hopefully, Kenya can build a team for the masters series in future, who knows,” said Mascarenhas.
The two-day tournament has attracted six teams, with two more invited teams- Ulinzi Veterans and Kisumu Veterans- yet to confirm their attendance.
Each participating team will have to submit a registration fee of Sh.5000 to the hosts before or on Wednesday.
The first Hockey Master series was hosted by the Nairobi County Hockey Association in July 2022, with Impala Veterans winning the title.
