Manchester United Eye Tchouameni Move Amid Real Madrid Uncertainty

Manchester United are reportedly preparing to move for Aurélien Tchouaméni if Real Madrid decide to allow the midfielder to leave during the upcoming transfer window. Reports from England and Spain indicate United have identified the France international as one of their priority midfield targets ahead of next season.
The Premier League club are believed to be assessing several midfield options as uncertainty continues over the futures of senior players including Casemiro and Christian Eriksen. Tchouaméni is viewed internally as a player capable of adding physicality, defensive balance and ball progression to United’s midfield setup.
The speculation surrounding the 26-year-old has intensified following reports of tensions within the Real Madrid dressing room. Spanish media outlets recently claimed Tchouaméni was involved in a heated confrontation with teammate Federico Valverde during training at Valdebebas, although the club has not publicly commented in detail on the matter.
Despite the reports, Real Madrid are understood to still value Tchouaméni highly and have not officially placed him on the transfer market. The midfielder remains under a long-term contract at the Santiago Bernabéu after joining from AS Monaco in 2022 in a deal worth around €100 million including add-ons.
Transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano has reported that Manchester United admire Tchouaméni but any move would depend entirely on Real Madrid’s stance. Romano stated that the Spanish giants are not actively seeking to sell the French international at this stage.
Former United defender Rio Ferdinand has also publicly encouraged the club to pursue the midfielder, describing him as one of Europe’s elite defensive midfielders. Ferdinand said Tchouaméni possesses the qualities needed to strengthen United’s midfield for the long term.
Real Madrid manager Xabi Alonso is expected to play a major role in determining the player’s future as the club prepares for squad restructuring ahead of the new campaign. Madrid are also monitoring several midfield prospects, which has fuelled speculation about potential departures.
At the moment, no formal negotiations have been confirmed between the two clubs and there is no indication that Tchouaméni has requested a transfer. Manchester United are believed to be closely observing developments in Madrid before deciding whether to make an official approach for the French midfielder.
