More Than 200 PWDs From Makueni Receive Mobility Equipments in A New Initiative

More than 200 persons with disabilities (PWDs) in Makueni County have received wheelchairs through a partnership between the Association of Hope Mobility Kenya and the county government. The distribution is part of a five-year agreement aimed at enhancing mobility and easing the daily struggles of PWDs.
Despite constitutional guarantees on their rights, many PWDs continue to face challenges accessing basic support and services. The initiative is beginning to bear fruit, with beneficiaries now able to access wheelchairs and other crucial mobility equipment to improve their independence and quality of life.
Speaking during the event, Deputy Governor Lucy Mulili affirmed the county’s commitment to inclusivity, saying her administration is ready to do everything possible to support persons with disabilities. She urged continued collaboration with stakeholders to ensure equal opportunities and dignified living for all residents.
