The semifinal clash, played on Tuesday evening, was decided by a late strike from T. Rakotondraibe in the 116th minute, sparking wild celebrations from the Malagasy players and fans.
The match was tense and cagey, with both sides struggling to break the deadlock during regular time despite several chances. Sudan defended resolutely, while Madagascar pressed hard in the second half, only to be denied by strong goalkeeping and missed opportunities.
With penalties looming, Madagascar’s persistence finally paid off when Rakotondraibe latched onto a pass from L. Rafanomézantsoa and slotted home the winner.
