Liverpool have put the brakes on their pursuit of Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak after seeing a record-breaking £110 million offer firmly rejected, talkSPORT reports. The Reds, who were prepared to smash their transfer record for the Swedish international, are understood to have no imminent plans to return with a second bid.
Newcastle have made it clear that Isak is not for sale this summer unless an extraordinary offer—believed to be in excess of £150 million—is tabled. The 24-year-old remains a key part of Eddie Howe’s project at St. James’ Park, and the club is under no financial pressure to sell.
Despite Liverpool's interest, the transfer now appears to be at a standstill. Isak, who has not joined Newcastle’s pre-season tour in Spain, is reportedly open to a move, but unless the Magpies soften their stance or sign a high-calibre replacement, he is expected to remain on Tyneside for the 2025/26 season.
