Jacob ‘Ghost’ Mulee Appointed Harambee Stars Head Coach
Football Kenya Federation has on Wednesday, October 21, 2020, unveiled Jacob ‘Ghost’ Mulee as the new Harambee Stars coach on a 3 year deal.
The coach is set to name his technical bench in due course.
“It is an honor to be Harambee Stars coach for the second time and the task ahead now is to qualify for the 2021 AFCON,” said coach Mulee.
His first assignment will be against Comoros on November 11, (home) and November 15, 2020 (away)
Ghosty’ Mulee takes over from Francis Kimanzi who was sacked on Tuesday, October 20, although FKF said Kimanzi vacated his role “by mutual consent”.
Mulee has been given the free will to select his own backroom staff, as Kimanzi exited his assistant Zedekiah ‘Zico; Otieno and Goalkeeper Trainer Lawrence Webo.
He says that his main goal is qualifying for the 2021 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) and the 2022 World Cup.
Mulee is remembered for leading Harambee Stars to the 2004 AFCON finals in Tunisia where he won only one game, a 3-0 win against Burkina Faso. Dennis Oliech, Emmanuel Ake, and John Baraza were the scorers on that day as Stars exited in the group stage.
Until his appointment, Mulee has been co-hosting the Patanisho program on Radio Jambo alongside Gidi Ogidi.
