Football Kenya Federation has announced the official dates and venues for the promotion/relegation playoff between Wazito and Migori Youth.

The playoff matches are set to determine which team secures a place in the FKF Premier League for the upcoming 2023/2024 season.

The first leg of the playoff will take place at the Migori Stadium on Saturday, July 15, 2023 while the second leg is scheduled for July 22, 2023 at Muhoroni Stadium.

Migori Youth, who finished third in the 2022/23 FKF National Super League with 62 points, seeks promotion to the top-tier league as rivals Wazito fight to remain in the top flight after finishing 16th in the 2022/23 FKF Premier League.

Wazito FC find themselves in the promotion/relegation playoff for the second consecutive season, having narrowly escaped relegation in the previous campaign.

In last season’s playoff, they secured a 2-1 victory in the first leg but suffered a 3-2 defeat in the second leg. However, thanks to the away goals rule, Wazito survived the tie with a 4-4 aggregate score.

Migori Youth, on the other hand, will be seeking to replicate the success achieved by Kenya Police in the playoffs, as they aim to secure promotion to the FKF Premier League.
