Firat Resigns As Harambee Stars Coach
Harambee Stars head coach Engin Firat has resigned from his position, according to the new Football Kenya Federation (FKF) President Hussein Mohammed.
The FKF boss, in a statement, assured the public that the matter would be addressed urgently. "Harambee Stars coach has terminated his contract with the federation, and we will be looking forward to new alternatives, said Hussein.
While the federation aims to appoint a new coach as soon as possible, it emphasized the importance of due process and thorough internal deliberations.
The FKF acknowledged the potential uncertainty caused by this transition and reaffirmed its dedication to rebuilding Kenyan football and providing stability for the Harambee Stars.
Firat has managed 23 games since taking over in 2021, recording seven victories, seven draws, and nine defeats.
He guided Kenya to a 2-2 tie with Russia and a 2-1 triumph over Qatar in high-profile international friendlies.
His absence from the AFCON 2025 tournament was his worst mistake, though.
