Battle lines have been drawn ahead of the EFL Carabao Cup Quarter Final clash, after a fascinating Round of 16 draw that saw Current Champions Manchester United trumble at the feet of Newcastle.

United’s 3-0 loss at home was the first time they have lost successive home games by three goals or more since October 1962. It condemned the Reds to their eighth defeat in 15 matches and the biggest away success for Newcastle over Manchester United in 93 years.

Mikel Arteta’s side produced a below par performance and fell 3-1 away, to a commanding performance from West Ham.

Nine-times winners Liverpool will play West Ham United at home in the League Cup quarter-finals after the Reds knocked out Bournemouth and the Hammers eliminated Arsenal in last-16 matches.

The quarter-final draw also pitted Newcastle against Chelsea who sealed a tight 2-0 victory against Blackburn Rovers, while Everton will play Fulham.

There is guaranteed to be an EFL club in the semis with League One Port Vale taking on Championship side Middlesbrough.

The quarter-final ties will be played in the week of Dec. 18.

DRAW:
Everton v Fulham
Chelsea v Newcastle United
Port Vale v Middlesbrough
Liverpool v West Ham United
