Aston Villa have reached a full agreement with Liverpool to sign Harvey Elliott in a deal worth £35m. The structure is a loan with an obligation to buy, ensuring Elliott becomes a permanent Villa player.
The 21-year-old midfielder is set to undergo medical tests in the coming hours as both clubs finalise paperwork ahead of the deadline. Villa moved quickly to secure his signature after their attempted move for Lucas Paquetá collapsed.
Elliott, regarded as one of England’s brightest young talents, is expected to add creativity and attacking depth to Unai Emery’s squad. Villa’s board believe his arrival will strengthen their push for both domestic and European success this season.
Liverpool, meanwhile, have sanctioned the deal as they continue to reshape their squad, with a significant sell-on clause also included in the agreement.
