Chun Jeong–Eun–Nyong’o Cancer Centre Unveiled In Kisumu

Kisumu Governor Anyang’ Nyong’o and Peter Chun, Chairman and President of the World Smart Cities Forum, officially unveiled the Chun Jeong–Eun–Nyong’o Cancer Centre at Victoria Annex Hospital in Milimani, Kisumu County on March 27, 2026.
The new facility is designed to provide specialised oncology care to residents of Kisumu and surrounding counties, addressing gaps in cancer treatment services in the region.
Peter Chun represented the World Smart Cities Forum, which supported the project as part of broader efforts to enhance healthcare infrastructure through international partnerships.
Governor Nyong’o highlighted that the centre will reduce the need for patients to travel long distances for treatment, improving access to timely and effective care.
The Chun Jeong–Eun–Nyong’o Cancer Centre forms part of Kisumu County’s ongoing strategy to strengthen healthcare services, with a focus on specialised treatments and modern medical technologies.
The facility is expected to offer comprehensive oncology services, including diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care, aiming to improve outcomes for cancer patients in the Lake Victoria Basin.
Officials said the centre was built in collaboration with both local and international partners, reflecting a commitment to integrating global expertise with local healthcare needs.
The inauguration marks a milestone for healthcare development in Kisumu, with the county government and partners pledging continued support to expand and sustain specialised medical services for residents.
