Mohamed Bangoura II’s strike just after halftime secured a narrow 1-0 victory for Guinea over Niger in their African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2025 Group C opener at 5th August Stadium. Bangoura found the net in the 47th minute to give Guinea a vital three points in a tightly contested match.
Both sides battled hard, with several substitutions and yellow cards characterizing a physical encounter. Niger’s R. Assane and Guinea’s I. S. Sankhon and O. Drame were booked as tensions flared in the closing stages. Despite Niger’s push for an equaliser, Guinea held firm defensively.
Player of the Match Mohamed Bangoura II led the way for Guinea, earning a rating of 7.9. M. Abdouramane (7.2) was Niger’s top performer. The result leaves Guinea well placed in Group C, while Niger faces pressure to get a result in their next match.
