Burkina Faso secured a decisive 4-2 victory over the Central African Republic in their Group B, Round 2 clash of the African Nations Championship on August 6, 2025. The match, which started with a quick goal from P. Ouattara in the 11th minute, saw Burkina Faso dominate despite a resilient fight from their opponents.
S. Tchibinda equalized for the Central African Republic in the 15th minute, but second-half goals from A. A. Guiro (61’), P. Malo (78’, penalty), and A. Baguián (84’) sealed the win for Burkina Faso. A. Zoumarra’s late strike in the 90+5 minute proved only a consolation for the visitors.
This result places Burkina Faso in a stronger position in Group B, while the Central African Republic will need a win in their next match to stay in contention for advancement.
