Cameroon claim first Win against Burkina Faso.
Hosts Cameroon came from behind to beat rivals Burkina Faso 2-1 in the opening game of the African Cup of Nations at the Olembe stadium in Younde.
Burkina Faso got an early lead through Sangare’s header inside 24 minutes of the game, but did not hold the lead for long.
The visitors played a part in their own downfall, as they gave away two penalties towards the end of first half, granting Cameroon a lifeline.
Cameroon captain Vincent Aboubakar scored both penalties, calmly putting in the first to the right side of the goal and the second to the left to complete a comeback.
Cameroon however had a third goal ruled offside by the VAR after a long review.
The Africa Cup of Nations officially started with a short opening ceremony a few hours earlier at Olembe Stadium.
