Borussia Dortmund Seal €26.5m Deal for Fábio Silva

Borussia Dortmund have agreed a deal to sign Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Fábio Silva in a transfer worth €26.5 million. The agreement will see Dortmund pay €22.5 million up front, with a further €4 million included in add-ons based on performance.
The 23-year-old Portuguese striker is expected to travel to Germany for a medical before finalising the move. He said his goodbyes to Wolves teammates and staff on Tuesday night, shortly after the club’s 3-2 Carabao Cup victory over West Ham United, where he was left out of the squad.
Silva arrived at Wolves from Porto in 2020 for a then-club record €40 million fee, but despite early promise, he struggled to cement a regular role in the Premier League side. The forward has also spent time on loan at Anderlecht, PSV Eindhoven and Rangers in recent seasons.
Dortmund, who continue to invest in developing young attacking talent, see Silva as a player with the potential to revive his career in the Bundesliga. The move represents a fresh start for the Portuguese forward as he looks to fulfil the potential that made him one of Europe’s most exciting teenage prospects.
