Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Bayern Munich held talks with the representatives of Gabriel Martinelli earlier this summer. The German champions were keen on the Arsenal winger and saw him as a serious target at the start of the transfer window.

Discussions with Martinelli’s camp were positive, but negotiations quickly stalled. Arsenal made it clear they would not consider offers in the range of €30–35 million, valuing the Brazilian international far higher and refusing to entertain any approach.

The move also failed to progress due to financial constraints on Bayern’s side. In the end, Martinelli remained committed to Arsenal, with Romano stressing that the 23-year-old is very happy in North London and has no desire to leave.

Arsenal, for their part, see Martinelli as a central figure in Mikel Arteta’s long-term project. The club considers him one of the cornerstones of their attacking future, alongside Bukayo Saka, and are determined to keep him as they continue to challenge for major honours.
