Bayern Decline €65m Option As Nicolas Jackson Set For Chelsea Return

Chelsea on loan to Bayern Munich star Nicholas Jackson

German champions FC Bayern Munich have opted against activating the €65 million buy clause for Nicolas Jackson, confirming the striker will return to Chelsea FC at the end of his loan spell.

The decision was confirmed by Bayern’s sporting director Max Eberl, who stated that the club would not pursue a permanent transfer despite the pre-agreed option included in the deal.

Jackson joined Bayern on a season-long loan for the 2025–26 campaign but struggled to secure a consistent starting role in a squad led by Harry Kane.

The Senegal international featured largely as a rotational option, limiting his minutes across domestic and European competitions.

Despite showing flashes of quality, Bayern’s technical team concluded that the financial outlay required to secure his services permanently did not align with their squad strategy.

Reports indicate the club prioritised strengthening other areas of the squad, with Jackson not viewed as a guaranteed long-term starter.

The forward is now expected to rejoin Chelsea ahead of the summer transfer window, where his future remains uncertain.

Chelsea are understood to be open to assessing multiple options, including reintegration into the first team or a potential transfer.

Interest in Jackson is already building across Europe, with several clubs monitoring his situation closely.

Premier League sides are believed to be among those tracking the striker, viewing him as a viable attacking reinforcement.

Jackson’s performances in Germany, though limited in opportunity, are said to have maintained his market appeal.

The coming transfer window is now expected to be decisive in determining the next phase of the 22-year-old’s career.
