Arsenal are exploring a move to sign Christos Tzolis from Club Brugge in a deal expected to cost around €40 million as the club intensifies preparations for the new season and continues strengthening its attacking options.

The 24-year-old winger has emerged as one of Europe’s most productive wide players following an outstanding campaign in Belgium, where his performances have attracted growing interest from clubs across major European leagues.

Arsenal’s interest is understood to be at an exploratory stage, with internal assessments underway as the club evaluates whether conditions are suitable to advance discussions into formal negotiations during the summer transfer window.

Tzolis is not being viewed as a replacement for other attacking targets under consideration. Arsenal remain active in several parallel pursuits as they seek to increase quality, depth and tactical flexibility across the frontline.

Primarily deployed on the left side of attack, Tzolis has developed into a versatile forward capable of operating across multiple advanced positions. His ability to combine direct running with creative output has become one of his strongest attributes.

The Greek international’s current rise follows a difficult earlier period in English football, where expectations were not fully realised. Since leaving that chapter behind, he has rebuilt momentum and re-established himself through consistent performances abroad.

His breakthrough period accelerated during his time in Germany before earning a permanent move to Club Brugge, where his development continued and his numbers reached elite levels.

During the 2025–26 season, Tzolis delivered exceptional output, contributing goals and assists at a rate that placed him among Europe’s most effective attacking players outside the continent’s traditional elite leagues.

Arsenal’s recruitment approach this summer reflects a broader strategy focused on adding multiple profiles rather than depending on a single marquee acquisition to transform the attack.

The club’s sporting leadership is also believed to be planning with long-term squad balance in mind, considering both immediate competitiveness and sustainable development across attacking positions.

For Tzolis, a move to North London would offer an opportunity to return to English football under very different circumstances and demonstrate the progress made since his previous spell in the country.

Club Brugge are not expected to lower their demands easily. The Belgian side remain financially stable and under little pressure to sell, meaning any potential transfer would likely require strong negotiations and a convincing overall package.

Although no agreement has been reached and talks remain preliminary, Arsenal’s interest highlights the club’s continued focus on identifying players entering their peak years as preparations build for another campaign competing on multiple fronts.
