The theme for World Liver Day 2023 is "Be vigilant, Do Regular Check Up, Fatty Liver can affect anyone." The theme emphasizes regular liver check-ups, as the fatty liver can affect anyone, irrespective of the risk factors such as obesity, diabetes, and excess consumption of alcohol.

The World Health Organization estimates that over 400 million people live with chronic hepatitis B or C infections, the leading causes of liver cancer and cirrhosis.

In addition, lifestyle factors such as alcohol consumption, obesity, and viral infections can also contribute to liver diseases.

On World Liver Day, organizations worldwide organize events and activities to raise awareness about liver health, encourage healthy lifestyle choices, and promote early detection and treatment of liver diseases.

These activities may include free health screenings, educational seminars, social media campaigns, and fundraising events to support liver research and patient advocacy.

One of the key messages of World Liver Day is the importance of regular liver function tests to monitor liver health and detect liver diseases in their early stages when they are more treatable.

People at risk of liver diseases, such as those with a history of viral infections or heavy alcohol consumption, should undergo regular screenings and follow their healthcare provider's recommendations for lifestyle modifications and treatment.
