Aston Villa have secured the signing of former Manchester United defender Victor Lindelöf on a free transfer. The Swedish international has agreed to a two-year contract, with an option to extend the deal until June 2028.
The 30-year-old centre-back, who recently ended his spell at Old Trafford, was in advanced discussions with Fiorentina and Everton but opted for Villa after they tabled a more attractive proposal.
Lindelöf is undergoing medical tests ahead of the official announcement and will add valuable experience to Unai Emery’s backline as the club prepares for another season of domestic and European football.
