The plight of the Persons With Disabilities
The Nakuru North patron for Persons With Disabilities, John Mbugua, has called upon the government to involve persons with disabilities in governance matters of the country.
Speaking in Bahati constituency, Nakuru, during a consultative forum that brought together Persons with disabilities, Mbugua noted that, the electoral process has no space for Persons with disabilities.
Mbugua was supported by residents Steven Muturi and Muthoni Macharia who say, the government should give Persons With Disabilities first priority during elections and be sensitized on their voting rights in the country.
They also urged the government to set aside polling booths specifically for the Persons With Disabilities and during voting, they should not join the long queues instead have their own queue where they will be comfortable.
