A cross-section of elected leaders from Kisii and Nyamira counties have launched a learners’ mentorship programme in secondary schools geared towards making them responsible future citizens.

She was hosting the programme’s first edition and sponsors at Nyamagwa mixed secondary in Kisii Central sub-county.
Stephen Mogaka, West Mugirango legislator who had also conducted the programme in his area underscored the importance of collectively molding children without discrimination to fit into society.
He commended the Jubilee wing of parliamentarians for agreeing to engage president William Ruto to support his development efforts for the benefit of the country.
Nyamira senator,r Okong’o Omogeni, remarked the region’s elected leadership was committed to instilling the virtues of hard work, discipline, and resilience in learners under the programme.
The senator scoffed at insinuations, that last year’s KCSE candidates from the region who excelled did not deserve the grades terming it profiling of the hard-working students’ community.
He alluded to the ongoing investigations into the same by a Parliamentary Committee on Education saying they were ready to defend the candidate’s exam outcome when it visited the region.
