World Alzheimer's Day

No action is too small when it comes to creating awareness on a certain issue. Whether it is by sharing a post on your social media or by donating to the fundraising firms with a noble cause.

This comes in line with September 21, 2022. It is the day that marks World Alzheimer’s day.

The first diagnosis was done in 1906. Alzheimer is a type of dementia which can be described as progressive brain disorder.

It damages someone’s memory and thinking skills, and this leads to an inability to carry out simple tasks. This disorder can rob one of their happiness because it is a brutal and sorrowful experience.

Alzheimers disorder is frustrating, people with this disorder tend to find it difficult to come to terms with the loss of their most vital aspects in life.

This is because, with Alzheimer's, a person forgets their thoughts, memories, and things that define who they are.

The theme for the 2022 World Alzheimers’ day is : Know dementia, know Alzheimers. It is usually observed to raise awareness on neurological disorders.

Alzheimers is most common in Western Europe. As of 2022, statistics report that 44 million people globally are affected. Beyond the age of 65, the prevalence of this disorder doubles every five years.

Alzheimers is the world’s seventh deadliest cause of death. After diagnosis, the life expectancy is four to eight years.

You can decide to support World Alzheimers’ day by wearing a purple ribbon or bracelet.

You can also donate to Alzheimer's Disease International (ADI) or take part in the memory walks. Lift others by walking hand in hand with them.
