There are more shocking new revelations coming from a former Shakahola follower revealing that more than 1500 people were trapped in Shakahola and were not only conned to buy land but we’re also brainwashed to fast to death.

A former Pastor Paul Mackenzie follower that agreed to be interviewed by Citizen TV talked about his experience and how it all began. He claimed that those who bought the land in the forest didn’t know of the impending doom that was to come very soon.

He claimed that Mackenzie was one to say but not a doer. Mackenzie only fasted for two days a week and told his followers that he would be the last to die. The number of families was estimated at 300 and more than 150 followers heeded to his every word.

Paul Mackenzie’s followers began to fast in January and by March the deaths began. Children who resisted fasting would either be suffocated or strangled to death according to the autopsy report by Pathologist Johansen Oduor.

The former Paul Mackenzie follower also stated that Paul Mackenzie was allegedly present during the funerals of the victims and was also involved in some instances in the digging of the graves for more victims.

Family members are devastated as to whether their family members involved in the Shakahola Cult are still alive. Some of the converted family members are given unreasonable demands by McKenzie’s followers who are currently monitoring those who are still fasting.

Meanwhile, DNA samples testing of the bodies exhumed from the forest will continue through the weekend- relatives of the missing persons have been asked to take advantage of the extension.

So far, autopsies for 100 bodies have been carried out, after 24 bodies were handled Thursday, with the major cause of death being identified as starvation followed by asphyxia and head injuries, Dr. Oduor said Thursday evening during the daily press briefing.
