Education Cabinet Secretary Prof. George Magoha attended a Pre-Conference on Inclusive Education at the Kenya Institute of Special Education (KISE) on 5th August, 2019.
He said the government not only intends to employ more teachers but also offer refresher courses for teachers handling children with special needs. “Proper assessment and placement of children with special needs is the basis of inclusive education,” added the Education CS.
During his speech, Prof. Magoha praised KISE for the great work in ensuring inclusion of Special Needs Education in Education Reforms. He stated that KISE will be equipped for a workable environment.
“In life God creates us all equal in His image. We are all the same and you can take that to the bank. Children with any form of disability should not be subjected to any form of discrimination,” added the Education CS.
The main event is set to take place on 16th August, 2019.
